After an introductory visit, they delivered a discovery report and an easy to understand IT plan to rebuild our server, network, wireless and all our workstations one step at a time. The work was carefully orchestrated with minimal downtime. Finally, we had a stabilized infrastructure, and comfort in knowing we had an excellent backup system too.     CineCity is a film production company with offices in Los Angeles and Seattle. We’ve been working with UniversalMac for well over a decade and are familiar with everyone at the company from its founder to the lead techs and accounting personnel. UM has done so much for our company. They’ve been instrumental in helping us purchase, upgrade and install additional Mac’s and iOS devices, all at discount.

    Transition between operating systems when upgrading; recovery of thousands of emails and other files when corrupted; coordinating all of our Mac devices so they “play-together” seamlessly, even when working in other countries; install “virtualization" software and upgrades to enable various Windows-specific programs to run on our Macs; securely erasing hard drives prior to disposing of out-dated equipment, etc. And doing all of this both on-site and remotely.  One of the most important additions to our network was an Enterprise-Level, custom firewall that UM researched, installed and tested. This has been instrumental in protecting our network against viruses, malware, and ransomware, and protecting our privacy with VPN connections. Our confidence in UM is so high that we’ve also subscribed to its redundant off-site, encrypted backup system, a critical feature to protect us even when using Wi-Fi while working on films overseas. In fact, we’ve telephoned and emailed UM tech’s when overseas for assistance and they’ve been there for us, despite the different time-zones. We really can’t ask for more than what UM does and so expertly: it’s a bit like having a trusted virtual business partner.
